Abstract

We summarize the evolution of intermediate-mass stars, calling attention to the uncertainties related to mixing in convectively unstable regions, and to recent developments in the theory of AGB stars with envelope burning. Finally, we briefly report on the distribution of C-stars of the Large Magellanic Cloud in the M bol -log(age) plane.
