Abstract
The solubility of disperse dyes in aqueous solutions increases in the presence of cyclodextrins due to complex formation. The stability constants of the cyclodextrin-dye complexes can be calculated from the absorbance of the solutions. The extinction coefficients of the disperse dyes are measured in aqueous mixtures of organic solvents. The use of solid cyclodextrin complexes of disperse dyes in dyeing processes has some advantages compared with the conventional process using dyestuff dispersions.
