Variability of Growth and Productivity of Hybrid Plane Progeny on Meadow Black Soil in Serbia

Progress in Botanical Research

Abstract

General and group analysis of 29-year old progeny of European plane indicates that, along with individual variability, the progeny is also characterised by a highly expressed polymorphism of a series of properties. This study deals with the polymorphism of crown form, types of bark, straightness of the stem, and anatomic structure. A low share of parent phenotypes (2.70% of the type occidentalis and 3.71% of the type orientalis) has been explained by postsyngamic lethality and by differential reproduction in nursery conditions
