  • Chapter
Cognitive and Linguistic Aspects of Geographic Space

Part of the book series: NATO ASI Series ((ASID,volume 63))

Abstract

This paper considers the application of modal logic formalisms to spatio-temporal information systems. It begins with a brief description of modal logic. Then follows a survey of common modal logical systems, especially temporal and dynamic systems. The paper discusses current work on temporal databases and considers the special problems of data with both a spatial and temporal reference.
