Abstract
The claim of Broadhurst et al. (1990 — BEKS) of a large-scale, regular structure seen in a deep galaxy redshift survey along the Galactic polar axis is strengthened by new off-axis redshifts. The transverse extent of this new spatial information is comparable with the scale 128Mpc * identified by BEKS, and allows us to demonstrate that the original pattern is due to genuine large scale, ≈ 50h-1Mpc, features lying at the poles, and is not the chance alignment of small clumps. The southern polar distribution has been independently mapped using rich clusters (Nichol et al., these proceedings) revealing structure in very good agreement with our extended galaxy distribution.
