Abstract
The Lekki lagoonal-barrier coastal complex demonstrates the close relationship between geomorphology and tourist development. Uncontrolled tourist development on the barrier complex has resulted in an adverse impact on the coastal environment, e.g. coastal erosion, flooding, deforestation, salt intrusion water. To reduce the conflicts, a sound coastal management policy is required and includes measures such as setback lines, beach nourishment, afforestation and a centralised water system and sewage treatment.
