Abstract
Pea midge (Contarinia pisi (Winnertz)) is a localized pest in Britain, large populations occurring in north and south Humberside, Lincolnshire, north Cambridgeshire and parts of Norfolk. Elsewhere in Britain pea midge incidence is currently slight and seldom important. Serious damage to peas and crop loss may follow heavy attacks, but the incidence of attack varies from year to year, from area to area and from crop to crop within a season.
