Abstract

This presentation will first briefly review the major problems associated with the pyrometallurgical processing of copper refinery slimes. These include potentially environmentally abusive smelting emissions, substantial precious metals recycling in slags, lack of impurities bleed capabilities, and large in-process inventories of precious metals.
