Abstract

The geographical location of Venezuela makes it a privileged Neotropical country. It is rich in natural resources and biodiversity, a consequence of more than seven different climatic zones in an area of 916445km2. These rich resources are vulnerable to the considerable impact of development, which results in habitat destruction and species extinction.
