Tuning for Economy

Abstract

Well-known systems of professional tuning, as used at Crypton and Sun Tuning Stations, always start with a series of tests. From the results of these tests the tuner is able to diagnose the condition of the engine from all aspects. His diagnosis may suggest that minor or even major maintenance work is necessary before tuning work can be started. Cynical readers will no doubt suggest that some tuning stations are liable to find ‘necessary maintenance’ in order to run up the size of the bill. The author does not believe that many garages do rob the customer in this way, but those who disagree have the solution in the pages of this book. They can always tune their own engines!
