Abstract

The observed emission of solar radio waves, X-rays, and energetic particles indicate that processes involving great energies may develop in certain parts of the sun which we identify as the corona. Although radio quanta from the sun have small energies, the circumstances under which they are emitted indicate that they are produced by processes involving great energies and — often — energetic particles.
