Abstract
Among the numerous double stars there are a certain number of binaries, the components of which are close to each other in space and revolve about their common centre of gravity; the wider pairs, however, are for the greater part composed of stars which are at huge distances from each other, but from the earth are seen accidentally in line with each other. — The observation of double stars may lead to the determination of orbits. It may also be of interest in order to test an astronomical telescope.
