Abstract
Work on the ‘Allgemeine Kantindex’ consists in compiling four different kinds of indexes, a word index, a place index, an index of persons and sources, and a theme index. One of the main characteristics of compiling these indexes can be seen in the application of computational methods. The following report discusses some investigations on the automatic preparation of a theme index done by the computer staff of the ‘Institute of Communication Research and Phonetics’ at the University of Bonn.
It should be noted that this paper was published in expanded form (in German) in Untersuchungen zur Sprache Kants, pp. 70–76, (IPK-Forschungsberichte Bd. 26, Helmut Buske Verlag, Hamburg, 1970).
