Abstract
This address, recorded by M.D. Kaplan and G.O. Zimmerman on December 11, 1999, is a transcript of a video tape which was presented as the first contribution to the meeting. It contains greetings, a brief history of the Jahn-Teller effect discovery, and ideas of temperature induced high-Tc superconductivity and related properties.
