Abstract
Power law fluctuations in the power spectra are commonly observed in accreting systems such as low mass x-ray binaries and accreting black-holes. We therefore believe that the physical origin of this fluctuation is quite universal and robust. Here, we report a new model for the 1/fβ noise in the X-ray power spectrum of an accretion disc using ideas from cellular automaton and self-organized criticality.
