Abstract
Free-flow magnetophoresis for separation of magnetic particles was achieved on chip. In continuous flow magnetic particles were deviated from the direction of laminar flow by a perpendicular magnetic field depending on their susceptibility and volume and on the flow rate. Potential applications include magnetic sorting and particle based assays.
