Abstract

Background fluxes in string compactifications often generate no-scale type potentials for the scalar fields of the effective theory. This is also the case for type IIB on a Calabi-Yau manifold with 3-form background. However, higher order α′-corrections to the type IIB action spoil the no-scale structure of the potential.
