Abstract
The object of this chapter is to introduce some concepts relative to the logic of applied statistics, and to suggest the usefulness of statistics in the design of experiments that can yield maximum information. Many excellent text-books make available statistical tables, formulas for computations, more complete discussions and a wider selection of topics. The cited references (1, 2) have been most helpful to the present writer.
