Abstract

Epididymectomy was first described by Bardenheuer in 1887 for the treatment of tubercular epididymitis. Since that time, epididymectomy has been performed for a number of other indications although tuberculosis has been the most common reason. The era of antitubercular chemotherapy has now made epididymectomy a relatively uncommon operative procedure.
