Abstract

Prostatectomy has evolved into a well-defined procedure which may be performed in many ways, according to the urologist’s preference. It has been observed (Weyrauch 1959) that prostatic surgery provides the romance of Urology. All urologists have enjoyed the satisfaction of performing uncomplicated prostatectomies with excellent postoperative results. The unexpected complication or failure, however, continually reminds us of the need to search for even better techniques.
