Summary
A spontaneous change takes place in the style of the case during the 4th or 5th instar. Observations and experimental results suggest that the tendency to build a new style decreases slowly and in oscillations. The 3rd/4th and 4th/5th moults probably have an influence on this decreasing tendency.
