Abstract

Both statisticians and drug companies are often surprised and, perhaps, disappointed to find that clinicians do not always translate the apparently clear-cut results of clinical trials into their daily practice. In this presentation, I will endeavour to examine why it is that physicians, in general, and cardiologists in particular, are, and indeed should be, hesitant about extrapolating from published trials into real life.
