Abstract
The specific observation that intrauterine foreign bodies have an anti-fertility effect has been credited to Hippocrates. Many writers (i. e. Richter, Grafenberg, Ota, Oppenheimer, Ishihama, Marqulies, Lippes, Zipper, Scommegne, etc.)2 have used different designs of IUD, made of various substances, inert or in combination with metals, hormones, drugs, etc.
