Abstract

We derive a set of base vectors in a protanomalous colour space that fulfil the conditions for being opponent primaries. Two of them, located on the protanomalous alychne, carry the chromatic information, while the third carries the (achromatic) brightness information. With the aid of these opponent primaries we derive a set of linear equations that transform measured spectral tristimulus functions into spectral opponent response curves.
