Abstract
WHeeler and Feynman1 in their absorber theory of radiation have attempted to circumvent the classical infinsities of point charges by introducing retarded and advanced potentials of interaction on an equal footing. Their theory has provoked much (unpublished) favorable as well as adverse comment. In view of the importance of the question whether a description of nature using advanced forces of interaction at a distance is possible, the following purely critical remarks may not be out of place.
