Approach to Determination of HPLC Response Factors for Glucosinolates

Glucosinolates in Rapeseeds: Analytical Aspects

Part of the book series: World Crops: Production, Utilization, Description ((WCPU,volume 13))

Abstract

A procedure involving the “Thymol-test” proposed by McGregor has been used for the indirect determination of HPLC response factors at 229 nm. Problems occuring by using this indirect method for calibration are discussed. Taking glucosinolates’ spectrum and the different approaches into account a comparision of all till now published HPLC response factors is made. The influence of different solvent systems and different HPLC equipment is considered and its importance for the establishment of internationally valid factors is discussed.
