Abstract
Based on findings that could be obtained from patent specifications and publications (Medlars Computers, Stockholm), as well as on ideas of our own, a modular type of endoprosthesis for the lumbar disks was developed after a series of experimental studies carried out in 1983 and 1984 at the Department of Orthopaedics, Charite Hospital.
