Abstract

In this study, the main board, power board, sensor board, and communication module were designed separately by the separate module in order to improve the performance of RTU, so the failure diagnose function was added, and the Web Server function was designed by being embedded in the main board for monitoring the rivers state by the real-time video monitoring. The proposed RTU provides the video information of the river through the Web browser such as PDA, Smart Phone, Laptop and Computer etc. in real-time. The proposed RTU system was implemented by using ARM920T processor as ARM processor line and H.264 codec chip as compression codec and it was confirmed that the function of transferring data to the remote area by using the RTSP server and H.264 compression codec after inputting the function, video image that transfers the failure status by detecting the equipment status in real-time in the results of the comparative analysis of the performance.
