Abstract

Vascular anomalies are diverse and represent a broad spectrum of lesions of multiple pathologies that occur at many anatomic locations. These complex lesions impact a variety of medical and surgical specialties.

Within the viscera, diagnosis is usually based on recognition endoscopic, MRI, or at angiography. Symptomatic lesions that are discrete and localized respond well to local treatment with laser or heat coagulation or sclerotherapy. Mass lesions affecting adjacent organ functions, diffuse lesions, and severe bleeding may require radiological intervention and surgery.
