Impatiens necrotic spot orthotospovirus        (INSV)

Genus: Orthotospovirus        Family: Tospoviridae

INSV infection in plants of Franklinia alatamaha was reported from Georgia, USA (Ruter and Gitaitis 1993). The virus-infected franklin trees do not exhibit any symptoms. The virus is transmitted by thrips vectors in a persistent-propagative manner, and is also transmissible by mechanical sap-inoculation to a large number of hosts.
