Abstract

Multiple sclerosis is a chronic progressive neurological disorder characterized by demyelination. Ocular involvement and uveitis may occur during the course of the disease and may have a waxing and waning course. Often, ocular manifestations may be the presenting features of the disease. For an ophthalmologist, the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis may be challenging based on ocular features alone. While most patients have excellent visual recovery, some may progress to permanent visual loss due to its severe debilitating sequelae. In the following chapter, important ophthalmic manifestations in patients with multiple sclerosis are highlighted.
