Abstract

I lost hearing 40 years ago when I was 28 years old, by having injections of streptomycin. I gradually lost my hearing until at last I could not hear at all. In those days it was not well known that streptomycin might produce harmful side effects on hearing. Therefore I did not take any precautions against using it. I had never thought of the danger against my hearing loss. At the early period of my hearing impairment, I was just thinking that the voices of other parties were too low to hear.
