Summary

The two group of children aged 4 to 15 with severe brain contusions and diffuse axonal damages were the subject of neuropsychological investigation. The obtained results demonstrated that each of two type of trauma was characterized by its own specific structure of neuropsychological syndromes. The correlation between their components determined the severity of mental state in acute period and following outcome of patients.
