Abstract
The olfactory membrane is a yellowish area in the upper posterior part of the nasal cavity. The epithelium here is thicker than the surrouding respiratory epithelium, ranging from 30 µm in moles, 60 µm in humans, and 150–200 µm in frogs and turtles (Graziadei 1973b).
