Abstract

Treatments to the surfaces of metals as well as other items are very important in most industries. They are used for many purposes including decoration, reflectivity, improving hardness, and preventing corrosion. This chapter introduces and describes various industrial surface finishing processes. It includes electroplating, electroless plating, spray coating, galvanization, painting, anodizing, physical vapor deposition (PVD), and chemical vapor deposition (CVD).
