Abstract

In planta production of pharmaceutical proteins now has been successfully launched. However, plant-specific glycan structure has been concerned because of its allergenicity or immunogenicity. Glycoengineering of plant cells has been dramatically developed. The production of sialic acid-extended pharmaceutical protein has been feasible.
