Abstract
This edited volume assembles a collection of recent works in the field of model-based fuzzy control. Our goal is twofold:
-
1.
To expose the field of model-based fuzzy control to conventional control theorists as a complement to the existing approaches to control of nonlinear systems and provide practicing control engineers with some algorithmic and practical aspects of the fuzzy controllers and their possible use in a variety of applications.
-
2.
To emphasize the need for a more systematic and coherent theory of model-based fuzzy control by bringing together methods based on different control paradigms, but based on the same types of fuzzy models.
