Abstract
The size of viral particles may be determined by indirect, physical methods or by direct observation in an electron microscope. Herpes simplex and pseudorabies viruses have been examined by the various techniques and have been found to range in diameter from 110 mμ to 230 mμ (Table 1). This wide variation in size probably stems from deficiencies inherent in some of the techniques that have been employed.
