Zusammenfassung
Die Abschätzung des Suizidrisikos bei psychiatrischen Patienten stellt den Arzt im Einzelfall vor ein schwer zu lösendes Problem, da die Anwendung bekannter Prädiktoren, die aus gruppenstatistischen Untersuchungen gewonnen wurden, für einen späteren Suizid beim einzelnen Patienten nicht zu einer verläßlichen Unterscheidung zwischen hochgefährdeten und Patienten ohne Suizidrisiko beiträgt (Goldstein et al., 1991; Pallis et al., 1982, 1984; Roy, 1982; Stallone et al., 1980). Bevor die individuelle Suizidgefährdung abgeschätzt werden kann, ist für die klinische Praxis jedoch relevant, das Vorliegen von Suizidalität beim individuellen Patienten zu erkennen. Dies gilt insbesondere für die Zeit unmittelbar bei stationärer Aufnahme, in der für psychiatrische Patienten ein großes Suizidrisiko besteht.
