Abstract
In this section and the sections to follow we shall be concerned with the action of various agents on the viscosity of the protoplasmic colloid. If we are to understand the nature and the behavior of this most interesting of all colloids, we need as much information as possible as to how it is changed or influenced by one sort of treatment or another.
