Abstract
With small values of Δ it is not possible to linearize the conservation equations on the heat release front and the equations of combustion products flow. The reason for this is that for small values of Δ it is important to consider the incident perturbations of order Δ and the velocity of the gas behind the front differs from the velocity of sound also by an amount of order Δ. In particular, to analyze the approach of a slightly overdriven detonation wave to the Chapman-Jouget regime we must assume the perturbations attenuating the detonation wave to be of the order Δ.
