Zusammenfassung

Frauenforscherinnen, inbesondere Historikerinnen, haben den Begriff Feminismus oft breit definiert. So bezeichnet Olive Banks (1981: 3) „alle Anstrengungen, die Position der Frauen oder das vorherrschende Bild der Frauen zu verändern“ als Feminismus. Andere Forscherinnen (z.B. Eduards 1992; Rönnblom 1993; Bergman 2002) benutzen den Begriff ausschließlich für kollektive Aktionen, die ausdrücklich die Legitimität der Geschlechterordnung infrage stellt und die Überwindung der geschlechtsspezifischen Verteilung von Macht und Ressourcen in der Gesellschaft zum Ziel hat.
