Zusammenfassung
Die Bearbeitung, Speicherung und Übertragung von Signalen ist heutzutage fast ausschließlich digital. Das theoretische Verständnis des Digitalisierungsprozesses und der Eigenschaften digitaler Audiosignale legt daher ein wichtiges Fundament für das Verständnis vieler Systeme der Signalverarbeitung. Diese Kapitel führt die Grundlagen der Signalabtastung und -quantisierung ein sowie Ansätze zu Erhöhung der Signalqualität wie Dither und Noise-Shaping und endet mit einem Überblick über typische Zahlenformate von digitalen Audiosignalen.
