Zusammenfassung
Das Kapitel 8 gibt einen Überblick, wie und in welchem Umfang Biofeedback und Neurofeedback im Rahmen der Behandlung verschiedener Störungsbilder eingesetzt werden können. Die Autoren dieses Buches stellen dabei unterschiedliche Falldarstellungen aus ihrem unmittelbaren Praxisalltag zur Verfügung, an denen exemplarisch das Vorgehen in der Therapie erläutert wird. Da sich seit dem Erscheinen der ersten Auflage des Praxisbuchs einige kontroverse Diskussionen zwischen der wissenschaftlichen und der eher praktisch orientierten Betrachtungsweise des Biofeedback ergeben haben, wird kurz auf die unterschiedlichen Sichtweisen Bezug genommen. Das Kapitel wurde ebenfalls um einige Literaturstellen erweitert, die sich insgesamt kritisch mit der Wirksamkeit des Neurofeedback auseinandersetzen. Eine ausreichende und sorgfältige Dokumentation der eingesetzten Trainingsprotokolle und der damit in Verbindung stehenden möglichen Effekte, wird als eine effektive Basis für den fachlichen Austausch mit Kollegen aller Fachrichtungen angesehen.
