Zusammenfassung
George Washington war der erste Präsident der Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika. Nur 3 Jahre nach Ende seiner Amtszeit, in den letzten Tagen des 18. Jahrhunderts, fand auch sein bis dahin aktives Leben ein abruptes Ende. Todesursache: akute Epiglottitis. Seine Ärzte, einer davon ein enger Freund, waren danach heftiger Kritik ausgesetzt.
