Ein 59-jähriger Patient mit Typ-2-Diabetes seit 11 Jahren, einem HbA1c von 8,2 %, einem Blutdruck von 145 mm Hg systolisch, einem unter 10 mg Atorvastatin hohen Blutglukosewert hat jetzt ein Kreatinin von 6,4 mg/dl, einen Harnstoff von 211 mg/dl, erhaltene Urinausscheidung und fragt, ob er die Dialyse hätte verhindern können und welche Form der Dialyse ihm das längste Überleben sichern könnte. Hätte er die Erkrankung verhindern können und soll er für die Peritonealdialyse geschult werden?
