Abstract
It was very agreeable to me, famous Sir, that it pleased you to examine my two disputations. It would be even more agreeable if the occupations in which you spend your days had let you a little more time so that you would have more thoroughly understood the mind of those who are involved and what I think.
To the famous and experienced,
Mr Anton Deusing,
Doctor in medicine and illustrious Professor, with greetings from Niels Stensen
OPH 4 vol. I, 61–73: “Responsio ad vindicias hepatis redivivi” is the second of the four treatises in Nicolai Stenonis observationes anatomicæ … Lugd. Batav. 1662. It is a reply to Deusing’s “Vindiciæ hepatis redivivi”, directed against van Horne , whom Deusing took to be the real author of Steno’s disputatio anatomica de glandulis oris … Lugd. Batav. 1661. Further annotations by Vilhelm Maar are found in the transcripts, www.extras.springer.com.
