Zusammenfassung

Die Luststörungen des Mannes werden oft als die am schwierigsten zu behandelnden sexuellen Dysfunktionen überhaupt beschrieben (Corona et al. 2013). In vielen Lehrbüchern der Sexualmedizin und Sexualtherapie werden sie auch als mysteriös, undurchsichtig und weitgehend unerforscht dargestellt, was in besonderer Weise auf die psychologischen Aspekte bezogen wird. Während sich die schlechte prognostische Einschätzung nicht mit unseren klinischen Erfahrungen deckt, entspricht es zweifellos den Tatsachen, dass wir relativ wenig über die Quellen, Rahmenbedingungen, Prozesse und Störfaktoren der Appetenz des Mannes wissen. Verglichen mit den zahlreichen Studien zum sexuellen Verlangen der Frau (s. Kap. 9), in denen viele unterschiedliche Aspekte adressiert wurden, verfügen wir nur über eine spärliche Anzahl von Untersuchungen zu den männlichen Lustproblemen, die sich zudem schwerpunktmäßig mit hormonellen Faktoren beschäftigt haben.
