Zusammenfassung

Die Veröffentlichung der 5. Ausgabe des Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5; American Psychiatric Association 2013) hat nicht dazu beigetragen, das Abgrenzungsproblem der Unterscheidung zwischen psychischen Störungen und psychischen Leiden zu klären. Zweck dieses Kapitels ist es, die Schlüsselauslöser dieser Kontroverse zu besprechen, einschließlich sozialkonstruktivistischer und evolutionärer Modelle. Das Kapitel thematisiert zum Abschluss die neue Netzwerkperspektive zu psychischen Störungen, eine radikale Alternative zu den traditionellen kategorischen und dimensionalen Modellen, die ungeachtet ihrer vielen Einschränkungen unser Fachgebiet dominieren.
