Abstract
Over the last decade Leibnizean physics has won respect as an alternative to Newton’s physics. Not only the theory of relativity and the quantum theory, but most especially also the discussions in philosophy of science and modern theories, like those of Prigogine and Haken, have led to an increased interest in theories which are not based on the example of Newtonian mechanics. Thus particular attention was devoted to Leibniz’s concept of force (and how it is related to the modern field concept), his conservation concept and his thoughts on the relativity of motion and on a relational theory of space and time.
